Softeners and Well Water Applications
Nice twin tank with a FLECK 9100 head. Typical well water found out east of Cleveland. A little iron and about 20 grains hardness. Big house with a few kids. Twin tank systems allow for 24/7 softened water and the regeneration cycle uses soft water in the process which greatly increases the lifetime of the softener media. The FLECK 9100 head is very well made and should be hassle free. The tanks are 9" by 44".
This tank was installed for iron, manganese and a slight egg odor. It's a 10" X 44" Enpress vortech tank. Enpress leads the way in mineral tank innovation with the Vortech tank. When water is in use, as it enters the tank for processing, a special plate on the bottom of the tank causes the water and media to swirl around which gives the customer super absorbability with no channeling.
As a single tank system, it's efficient and cost effective for the removal of iron and Sulphur. It has a FLECK 2510 AIO control head (Air Injection Oxidation) which maintains an "air pocket" in the top of the tank while the system is in service. As the water passes thru the air pocket, iron and Sulphur are oxidized. Additionally, dissolved oxygen is added to the water. The filter media bed then removes the iron and Sulphur from the water.
This system can remove up to 8 ppm Hydrogen Sulfide and up to 7 ppm Iron. A daily backwash (backwash can be set accordingly) will remove accumulated iron and replenish the filter media bed. The regeneration process also adds a fresh air pocket to the system.
